Never Forget Your Why

Never Forget Your Why

(Sigh)
.
Yesterday was rough mentally. But today was a new day.
.
Today, I came across a quote from F. Scott Fitzgerald, “For whatever it’s worth…it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over.”
.
Well damn, Fitz.
.
Today, I drove to my shop. As I was driving there, I had a heavy chest with worry. Not knowing what the future was holding for my little store. Not knowing what I was going to choose for it’s fate.
.
But as I stepped foot inside, that feeling dissipated.
.
It’s so easy to get lost in numbers, and scary taxes, fees, and lease agreements. It’s easy to lose sight of my why in the midst of my chaos. But every so often, I need to take a step back and look at the whole picture.
.
When I stepped into the store, I immediately felt peace. I don’t know how else to explain it. I felt like I was home, my safe place. The place that makes me the happiest. And I’ve heard that from several customers as well. It’s such a positive and peaceful environment.
.
A lot of you have commented on my previous post about giving myself grace and looking at everything I’ve overcame. And you’re right. I’m notorious at being hard on myself that I forget to look at it as a whole.
.
So I’m going to make the best of it. And I’m going to live a life worth being proud of, because I am.
.
This shop is my heart and all I’ve every wanted to do is share it with all of you.
.
I hope you all do the same. It’s never too late to start. To see things that startle you. To feel things that you’ve never felt before and meet people who have a different point of view. To have a life you’re proud of and if not, the courage to start over.
.
It’s worth it, promise.
